Meet Michelle

Bust-a-Burpee founder, Michelle Wong is an award-winning educator, passionate community member, and post-graduate researcher. Her dedication to inclusion is evident in all her endeavours that reach far and wide across her expansive and diverse networks.

Recently, Michelle was described as "the name that is everywhere in community inclusion." Her social impact and energy expands beyond an online presence, and into all the communities and groups that she visits and works with.

Michelle's research at Curtin University focuses specifically on motivation to participate in mainstream sport for autistic youth. She aims to develop guidelines to assist teachers and coaches with strength-based approaches for inclusion of autistic youth. Michelle champions the award winning Curtin Autism Academy Mandurah CoderDojo, recently winning the Premier's Science Award for Science Engagement.

Michelle's expertise and passion for inclusion is evident in her volunteer community roles as an executive board member for the Peel Chamber of Commerce, board member for Women in Sport WA, and  committee member of the Peel Capability Collaborative, where she advises on best practice in education and inclusion.
